Oscar looks like a typical 4 year-old kid, but the pain he has lived with all his life and the number of hospital treatments he’s had, paint a different picture. When his wish story to go to Walt Disney World® was shown on a local news channel, the support poured in from friends, family and strangers all wanting to make his wish come true.
Oscar was given the gift of going to Walt Disney World® with his family, where he reveled in all of its magical splendour. He was in awe as he watched the dazzling fireworks and went on all the rides – the Spiderman one being his favourite.
For the first time in a long time, Oscar and his family felt normal – free from pain, hospital visits and constant worrying. Oscar’s wish was not only a brilliant distraction from his illness, but a magical experience that has shown him that anything’s possible.
“His wish trip was a much needed time for Oscar and our family. When a commercial came on TV the other day about Walt Disney World, Oscar said ‘Mommy, that’s where all my dreams came true!’”
– Heather, Oscar’s mom
