Trailblaze for Wishes Raises over $550,000
As our 10-week challenge, Trailblaze for Wishes comes to an end, we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all our participants, sponsors and donors for their amazing support! Together, we’ve raised an incredible $550,000 to help us grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.
From coast-to-coast, we had a total 1,408 participants, over 169 teams who walked, hiked or ran a remarkable 158,447 KMs. This is equal to walking across Canada 28 times. What an accomplishment!
“We are thrilled with the amount that our dedicated Trailblazers have raised over the past 10-weeks. Their passion and enthusiasm has been inspiring and it’s been great to see so many trailblazers come together across Canada to help create hope for children with critical illnesses.”
Gemma Cowan, Director, Signature Fundraising Programs
This would not have been possible without our generous sponsors WestJet, Matrix Fitness Canada, and Sony Canada who have all played a critical role in the success of Trailblaze for Wishes. Our friends at Matrix Fitness Canada.

A special thanks to this year’s ambassadors, Ryker and Lea for your dedication and support.
Ryker, 6, wished to have an adventure! Ryker spent years of his young life enduring a critical kidney illness that necessitated a transplant by the time he was three years old. It was this illness that qualified Ryker for a wish, which was granted in 2018. Ryker and his mom have participated in this event for the last two years and over the past 10-weeks he surpassed his goal and walked over 200KMs.
Léa, 16, wished to have a home recording studio! In 2005, only 8 days after her birth, Léa had her first open heart operation. When she was 11, she received a 2nd aortic transplant and in March 2019, she was implanted with a pacemaker.
