Toronto, ON (May 25, 2021) – Three Ships, the next generation skincare that melds science with nature to promote healthier skin, announced its first partnership with Make-A-Wish®, the world’s leading wish-granting organization for children with critical illnesses. Three Ships goal is to donate $50,000 by December 31st.
Make-A-Wish® Canada creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, and Three Ships is joining the quest to bring every eligible child’s wish to life, because a wish is more than a “nice to have.” A wish is an essential component of a child’s treatment protocol.
Throughout the campaign Three Ships will support Make-A-Wish by donating a percentage of sales, offering special product bundles with all proceeds donated and offering consumers an opportunity to donate at checkout when they make a purchase. These funds will help support wishes for children with critical illnesses all across Canada.
“This is very personal to me,” said Laura Burget, Co-founder, Three Ships. “At the age of 26 I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had to undergo a 10+ hour operation, so I understand what children with critical illnesses are experiencing and how scared they are when facing a health challenge of this magnitude. Since inception, giving back has always been a part of Three Ships’ DNA. Now that we are in the position to make a difference on a larger scale, we reached out to Make-A-Wish as we want to support children and their families by fulfilling their wishes.”
“We are excited to welcome Three Ships as a Make-A-Wish Canada national partner. Their commitment to helping us create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses is inspiring,” said Sheila Rees, EVP, Development at Make-A-Wish Canada. “Our team is committed to delivering wishes for children within the limits of COVID-19 and to make preparations to address the significant backlog of wishes when the pandemic comes to an end. Make-A-Wish experienced a 30 per cent decline in revenue in 2020, and support from partners like Three Ships is critical, as it helps us ensure that when life returns to normal, no child must wait one day longer for the life-changing power of a wish.”
Make-A-Wish has been helping children fulfill their wishes for the past 41 years, giving them hope, strength, joy and marking a positive point in the child’s treatment and recovery. For a child fighting a critical illness, every day of waiting for a wish is one too many.
Three Ships recognizes that supporting Make-A-Wish is a meaningful way to have a positive impact on children with brain tumors and looks forward to having a long-standing partnership.
