Make-A-Wish® | Rêves d’enfantsMD Canada is able to fulfill its mission of creating life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses thanks to the strong support and passion from our generous donor community and corporate partners.
Mr. Girard and Mrs. Hardy are the minds behind several companies. Avid automotive enthusiasts, they learned about Make-A-Wish | Rêves d’enfants Canada through their relationship with the Honda Canada Foundation (HCF), a long-standing national partner of Make-A-Wish | Rêves d’enfants Canada. HCF’s goal is to enable the realization of dreams, through various philanthropic activities and funding to charities across the country where Honda’s customers and associates live and work.
Being witness to HCF’s commitment and strong belief in the everlasting impact of life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, Mr. Girard and Ms. Hardy did not hesitate to get involved. While bidding on a NSX car through an auction conducted by Acura Canada, they made the largest single donation that Make-A-Wish | Rêves d’enfants Canada has received from living donors at one time. The couple knows firsthand the power of having your biggest wish come true, and all the joy and hope that comes along with it.
“Having three young children of our own, we can see that wishes can help grow, flourish and create hope. We are happy to be able to help many children have their wishes come true,” says Ms. Hardy.
This generous gift will help grant the wishes of many children across the country – making a positive impact in the lives of wish kids and their families. This invaluable support is a true case of exemplary commitment, to help transform lives, one wish at a time.
“The strength of our partners network gives way to unique moments, like this one,” said Lyanne Goulin, Acting CEO, Make-A-Wish | Rêves d’enfants Canada. “We are so grateful to Mr. Girard and Ms. Hardy for this transformative gift that will have a direct and immediate impact on our mission. As a result of COVID-19, thousands of wishes are waiting and donations like this help make sure that when we’re back to safer times, no child must wait for their already delayed wish.“
