Creating Hope With The Captain Canada 5K

Make-A-Wish^® Canada is excited to be the charity partner for 365 Sports new and innovative virtual national events! The Captain Canada 5K – Virtual Edition is our nation’s most patriotic fun run in Canada. This 5km or 10km red and white, flag-wearing, all-Canadian experience brings people together through community engagement and fitness. This summer join thousands of fellow Canucks who are showing their patriotism in their local community while choosing to raise funds to support Make-A-Wish.

“365 Sports is proud to have the opportunity to continue it’s support of Make-A-Wish^® Canada through our new event, Captain Canada 5K – Virtual Edition, the most patriotic fun run in Canada” says Mike Lambert, Vice President and General Manager, 365 Sports. “When we learned that thousand of wishes have been delayed by the global pandemic, we were inspired to work with our community of event participants to raise much needed funds to help bring hope back into a child’s life. We have a whole network of superheroes across Canada that have the power to make an immediate difference in the lives of these wish kids and we’re excited to continue our tradition of supporting Make-A-Wish.”

This year, we’ve all had a glimpse of what it feels like to wait for hope. For the children and families we serve, finding hope in challenging circumstances is something they have been doing long before any of us heard the word “lockdown.” But hope isn’t something that happens to us, it’s something we can create.

“Our donors and partners have the power to create hope for our wish kids who are waiting for their wish to come true,” says Sheila Rees, Vice President of Development, Make-A-Wish Canada. “Donations from this event will directly impact our ability to continue to grant wishes for children living with critical illnesses. The team at 365 Sports, and their generous community of participants, have been important supporters over the years and we’re incredibly grateful for their strong belief in the life-changing work we do.”
