Liam’s wish to gift his favourite Maple Leafs player with custom hockey gear was granted recently at Scotiabank Arena. Liam, his mother Deana, and cousin Denise were invited to watch the Leafs’ morning skate before meeting team captain Auston Matthews for a special one-on-one experience.
During their interaction, Liam presented Auston with custom-designed skates and a stick he helped create alongside Guby Customs’ Peter ‘Guby’ Gubernator.
Liam was gifted a signed Maple Leafs jersey and was surprised with his own matching skates in the same custom design, featuring the Make-A-Wish Canada logo, Auston’s nickname (Papi) and illustrations including Auston’s dog, a cactus, and the Leafs’ mascot, Carlton. The experience concluded with a locker room tour.
