Keygan's wish helped him look forward to the future

Keygan is a teenage boy who loves escaping to the adventurous worlds in his video games. Although Keygan appears to be just like any other 13-year-old, he was diagnosed with cancer and faced a battle that he and his family never imagined they would experience.

Keygan discovered that he was eligible for a wish and asked for a brand new video gaming system. Thinking about his wish gave him something positive to look forward to and helped him get through difficult medical treatments.

His wish came true at a fundraising event for Make-A-Wish where he was presented with his new computer and gaming gear in front of a cheering crowd that was thrilled to witness his wish being granted.

Keygan was also invited to Electronic Arts (EA) for a VIP studio tour and was gifted some special EA swag to take home.

“We are so blessed and thankful that Keygan got to have that experience,” his mom shares. “He’s so lucky to have had this wish and to have made it through the cancer. Thank you, Make-A-Wish and everyone who supports Make-A-Wish. You patched up the hole in my heart that cancer made.”

Keygan’s wish was granted in 2017 and was the 2000th wish fulfilled by Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon.

When a wish is granted, it does much more than bring joy to a child’s heart. For wish kids like Keygan, who are faced with critical illnesses, a wish-come-true provides them with strength to battle through darkness and hope for healthier, happier days ahead.
