Nine-year-old Joudy is a sweet and brave young girl filled with joy and love. Despite all she’s been through, she’s always smiling. She wishes to help others and to one day work in the health sector. Surrounded by her family, Joudy finds happiness in simple moments, shared laughter, and time spent with her loved ones. She has always dreamed of one thing: to escape to a tropical destination with her big sister Firdaws to live an unforgettable adventure together.
Unfortunately, Joudy’s journey wasn’t always easy. Everything changed when she started to experience intense abdominal pain and fever. After visiting the emergency room and doing a series of tests, Joudy received a devastating diagnosis: she had cancer.
It was the beginning of a difficult and unexpected journey for her family. Over the course of five years, Joudy had to undergo several intense treatments, learn to live with medical tubes, and endure constant nausea that made her daily life very difficult. Long months in the hospital, difficult treatments, and constant uncertainty… Her courage was put to the test. Her mom admits she lost hope sometime in the face of this devastating reality. Despite her difficult journey, Joudy never stopped brightening the lives of others with her smile, her strength, and her ability to find joy, even in the hardest times.
Today, Joudy finished her treatment and her family found hope again. To help her get past the difficult years she had just experienced, Joudy was given the chance to fulfill her long-awaited wish: to fly to a tropical destination.
Joudy and her family enjoyed a week relaxing by the beach, making sandcastles, playing games, and meeting her favourite princesses. It was a unique and precious experience, filled with magic and lightheartedness. From the beach to the swimming pool, and all the precious moments in between, the trip allowed the whole family to find joy again after years marked by illness. “Joudy faced a huge challenge, but she managed to beat cancer. That’s why I tell everyone to hang on to hope, even in the darkest times,” shared Fatima, Joudy’s mom.
