To go to Blue Jays Spring Training
George, 14
nervous system disorder
George is a bright, easygoing kid with a wide range of interests and an unmistakable love for the Toronto Blue Jays. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, watching movies, playing video games, and spending time with friends. Living with a nervous system disorder has meant facing challenges that most kids his age don’t have to think about. Throughout his medical journey, one thing remained constant for George, his passion for the Blue Jays — and especially his favourite player, Alejandro Kirk. So, when George was asked what his one true wish would be, he knew exactly what he hoped for: ‘To go to Blue Jays Spring Training.’

His wish came true in an unforgettable way. From the moment he arrived, George was welcomed like part of the team. He met players, gathered signed jerseys, and took special family photos to mark the day. But the standout moment came when he spotted Alejandro Kirk in the batting cages. George lit up instantly. Kirk came over to spend time with him, signed his bat, and even gifted him his batting gloves, which was a gesture that made George feel like the MVP.

George’s parents shared “Watching George during his wish was incredibly special for our family. He faces his challenges with so much strength and positivity, but moments like this truly let him just be a kid. Seeing him light up, especially when he met Alejandro Kirk, is something we will never forget. It gave him a sense of joy and confidence that has stayed with him long after the day ended.”
