Bennett is an energetic, sports‑loving kid with a competitive spirit and a big love for golf. Whether he’s on the course, at school, or playing with his younger brother Harrison, Bennett thrives on staying active and learning new skills. Friendly, determined, and always ready for a challenge, he especially loves talking sports and dreaming about what the future holds.
The summer prior to his sixth birthday, Bennett was finding it harder to catch his breath and keep up with other kids. Ten days before he turned six he was very lethargic, so his family took him to the hospital. Tests revealed a tumour in his chest large enough to collapse his right lung and slightly shift his heart over. Bennett soon began an intense treatment journey. Over the next eight months, he endured 14 rounds of chemotherapy, 31 rounds of radiation, and a major reconstructive surgery to remove the tumour, three ribs and a portion of his lung. Spending much of that year living in and out of the hospital, it was an exhausting and emotional time for the entire family. Now healthy, with cancer behind him, Bennett is back to being a busy, happy kid.
Bennett learned about his wish just one day before, making the surprise even more exciting. His wish, to play golf with his favourite pro golfer, became an unforgettable experience. They played a full 18 holes and Bennett tied the match, sharing laughs, golf stories, and plenty of time riding together in the cart. Harrison and Bennett’s father joined them on the course, making it a meaningful family day. The celebration continued at the golfers’ home with dinner, swimming, outdoor play, and time in the golf simulator. The boys were even gifted with one‑of-a-kind hats from some of the largest professional sports tournaments in the world.
“Bennett will never forget the day he played against his favourite golfer,” his parents shared. “This wish wasn’t about his cancer — it was about celebrating how far he’s come and the future he has ahead.”
