Our goal is to create unforgettable experiences for children and their families through our wish granting process. But we can’t do it alone. Every single donation helps to ensure that every child’s one true wish comes true.
By donating to Make-A-Wish® you help transform lives. You give children with critical illnesses a reason to hope for a brighter future. And most of all, you help make their life-changing wishes come true.
There are many ways to donate and support Make-A-Wish. These gift giving options can suit every donor. See below for more information.

Monthly Gift
By giving to Make-A-Wish as a monthly donor, you will help reduce administrative costs, and enable us to dedicate more of your monies directly to our wish granting mission. And, as a monthly donor, you’ll receive one tax receipt per year for your total, annual contribution.
Tribute Gift
There’s nothing more meaningful and heartfelt than making a tribute gift in honour or in memory of someone. A tribute gift allows you to show a loved one how much you care, while helping to grant life-changing wishes. A tribute gift can be made online or through our mail-in donation form.
To acknowledge your tribute gift, you can send a chosen recipient an e-card (online donation only) or a printed, mailed card, with your custom message enclosed.
Legacy Gift
When you leave a personal legacy to Make-A-Wish, you’re making a powerful statement, while ensuring that future generations of wish children and their families are able to have life-changing wish granting experiences. A will ensures that heirs, assets and causes that are important to you are honoured and protected.
There are tax benefits with this type of giving. It is recommended that you discuss legacy gift intentions with your financial and legal advisors, as well as with your family.

A Bequest in Your Will
The most common planned gift, a bequest, is stated in your will and allows you to designate a specific amount or portion of your estate to Make-A-Wish. For this type of legacy gift, there are tax advantages to heirs.
Typical bequest language may be:
- “I give the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Canada the sum of $__________to be used or disposed of as its Board of Directors deems appropriate in its sole discretion.”
- “I give the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Canada ___% of the residue of my estate to be used for_____.”
Life Insurance Policy or RRSP
As a legacy gift option you can also designate Make-A-Wish as a beneficiary to your life insurance policy and/or RRSP.
