World Wish Day®

We are grateful for you.

Maybe you have already changed the life of a seriously ill child. Maybe you’re looking for the right charity to support and hope to find it here.

No matter the reason, we’re ready to stand with you in honour of World Wish Day®, a worldwide “Thank You” day that celebrates all Make-A-Wish® medical professionals, donors, volunteers, sponsors, wish kids and families.

Together we grant wishes – but the true power and support comes from you.

Join us and show your support by sharing your World Wish Day message with the hashtag #worldwishday.

Former Wish Kid
We are grateful to our wish kids, like Isaiah, who have continually supported Make-A-Wish
throughout their adult lives. Isaiah says, “I would like to thank the people who volunteer
– the Foundation has given my family so much hope and love over the years.
I’ll always have that, those moments, to remind myself of all the amazing things that life has to offer.”

Former Wish Kid
We are grateful to our wish kids, like Carlos, whose wish was granted in 2006.
He says, “I will spend my life giving back to Make-A-Wish, so that I can thank them.
The impact they had on me will go forever.”

Graham Freeman
Donor and Board Member
Make-A-Wish appreciates donors like Graham. He says, “At the end of the day, it’s all about that wish kid
getting something that they probably never dreamt they could have.
And if Make-A-Wish isn’t doing it, I don’t know who would.”

Dr. Linda Addonizio and Rose Rodriguez
Health Care Providers
We are grateful for those who heal, like Dr. Linda Addonizio and Nurse Practitioner Rose Rodriguez,
who have referred more than 100 wish kids to Make-A-Wish over the last 30 years.
Rose says, “I could not imagine our medical care plan without Make-A-Wish, I think it would be so valuable
if globally, every healthcare provider incorporated Make-A-Wish in their healthcare plan.”

Barbara Rodriguez
Wish Mom and Volunteer
World Wish Day is about thanking those who help, like Barbara Rodriguez, a wish mom and wish volunteer.
Barbara says, “World Wish Day is a day for us, for the volunteers, the wish children, the medical staff.
Everyone that is involved in the wish process. If you’re looking for gratification and fulfillment,
Make-A-Wish is where you’ll find it.”.

Lori Lerma, MS, CCLS
Child Life Director
We are grateful to those who help, like Lori Lerma, Child Life Director at the Brooklyn Hospital Center.
She says she loves granting wishes because, “The transformation that Make-A-Wish brings to the families
is so big, it really empowers them and it helps to better their mental health.”

Lorraine Rodriguez, MSN, FNP, BSN, RN
Nurse Practitioner
World Wish Day is about thanking those who heal, like Lorraine Rodriguez.
She says, “I can’t even tell you how Make-A-Wish has really changed this child’s life and the family.
Everyone I come across, physicians, healthcare providers, I talk to them and explain to them
how they should incorporate it in their plan of care.”

Sarah Pontius
Volunteer and Board Member
We are grateful for those who volunteer, like Sarah Pontius, who has been involved with Make-A-Wish
for four years now. She says, “I would tell anyone who’s thinking about becoming involved in Make-A-Wish,
if you have just a little bit of time or can make a donation, or get involved in any way, it will change your life.
It certainly has changed mine.”
