Make-A-Wish®Rope for Hope Welcomes Canadian Western Bank as National Presenting Sponsor

Feb. 20, 2015, TORONTOMake-A-Wish® Canada is excited to announce a new, three-year national partnership with Canadian Western Bank (CWB). Beginning this year, CWB will be the official presenting sponsor of Make-A-Wish®Rope for Hope, the wish-granting organization’s national signature fundraising event.

“This is the first time a national presenting sponsor will support Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope and we’re so pleased to share this milestone with CWB,” said Jennifer Klotz-Ritter, president & CEO, Make-A-Wish Canada. “We’re confident that CWB’s support will help us serve more children living with life-threatening medical conditions over the coming years and are looking forward to building a strong, long-term relationship.”

Rope for Hope is an exhilarating event where individuals raise a minimum of $1,500 for local wish-granting efforts in exchange for the thrilling opportunity to rappel down a city skyscraper. Rope for Hope rappelling events are scheduled to take place from May through July 2015 in eight Canadian cities, including: Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax, London, Calgary and Edmonton. The events are open to the general public. Those interested are encouraged to sign up at www.ropeforhope.ca. Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Following our involvement in Calgary’s event last year, CWB and our employees are proud to throw our support behind this cause across Canada for the next three,” said Greg Sprung, executive vice president, banking, CWB. “It’s an incredible feeling to know that our involvement will help put smiles on the faces of wish kids from coast to coast and we can’t wait to get started.” CWB’s online banking division, Canadian Direct Financial, and equipment financing affiliate, National Leasing, will also participate.

Make-A-Wish Canada hopes to raise $1.2 million this year through Rope for Hope events, adding to the approximately $1.4 million that has been raised since its launch in 2012.
