donation to support wishes

Honda Indy Toronto: July 18-20, 2014

TORONTO, ON, June, 24, 2014 - Race lovers of all ages are in for a treat as the speed and thrill of the Honda Indy Toronto will return in less than a month’s time. Honda Indy Toronto will once again bring back the popular Fan Friday and encourages all attendees to make a donation to support Make-A-Wish® Canada, in lieu of entrance fees. Fan Friday is made possible thanks to the Ontario Honda Dealers Association (OHDA).

As part of the Honda Indy Toronto there will be many activities again for fans to participate on Fan Friday and the entire race weekend, such as: batting cages, the Honda Pit Stop Challenge, racing simulators, face painting and many other family friendly activities. With no reserved seating on Fan Friday, attendees will have access to all grandstand sections on a first-come/first-served basis.

The Honda Indy Toronto is one of the premier racing events in North America. Thousands of fans are anticipated to be attending the event on the July 18 to 20, 2014 weekend. All contributions over the weekend to Make-A-Wish Canada will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Honda Canada.

Fan Friday has grown every year and thanks to the generosity of Toronto Race fans, support from Honda Canada Inc. and the Ontario Honda Dealers Association (OHDA), more than $57,000 was raised for Make-A-Wish Canada during last year’s race and the event has generated a total of $308,000 in the past four years!

Our mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Throughout the weekend, there will opportunities to donate to Make-A-Wish. With support from organizations like Honda Canada and the OHDA, Make-A-Wish grants approximately 500 wishes a year through eight regional chapters across the country.

Make-A-Wish Canada and its eight regional chapters have granted close to 6,000 wishes to courageous children across the country.

Hometown favourite, James Hinchcliffe, is shown here with staff members Chris Pon and Deborah Waines.
