There is no doubt that we are living in unprecedented times that call for decisive action to ensure the health and safety of our communities. We trust that this message finds you well, and we hope that you and your loved ones remain healthy.
As always, Make-A-Wish® Canada remains committed to our vision of granting the wish of every eligible child fighting a critical illness. As one of our valuable supporters, and given the critical situation around the globe, we are writing to provide you with an update on the steps that we have taken to date.
Make-A-Wish® remains focused on keeping our wish kids and families, community supporters, volunteers and employees safe.
At this time, in adherence with the advice of medical and public health authorities, Make-A-Wish Canada has made the difficult decision to postpone all wish travel through April 30, 2020, as well as all wishes and events that would involve wish child, volunteers and donors’ attendance at large gatherings. The situation is dynamic, and this postponement may be extended, as required to ensure the safety and well-being of our Make-A-Wish Community.
We will continue to monitor guidance from national, provincial, municipal and international public health and government organizations, including the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and are working closely with members of our National Medical Advisory Committee, keeping the best interest of the children and families we serve at the center of all the decisions we make.
We also want to thank you for your unwavering commitment to our mission, and our wish kids and their families. Without you, it simply would not be possible to bring the much-needed hope and joy that a life-changing wish delivers, to so many children and families across Canada.
As the days and weeks progress, we will keep you informed and up to date, but if you have any immediate questions, we would ask that you contact us by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once again, thank you for your continued support and partnership. Please stay well and healthy.
