As Interim Chief Executive Officer, Lyanne Goulin leads Make-A-Wish® Canada in its mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in Canada, and in more than 50 countries worldwide. Make-A-Wish is on a quest to bring every eligible child’s wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child’s treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness.
Lyanne’s past role included developing strategy and plans for leading the wish granting program at Make-A-Wish Canada (MAWC), ensuring that the organization was able to reach every eligible child in the country. She oversaw all policy aspects of mission delivery, liaised with the MAWC Medical Advisory Committee and had oversight for the operationalization of wishes from a broad national perspective working with the finance, IT and development teams.
Lyanne has been involved in granting wishes for nearly 20 years and has worked in some capacity on over 20,000 wishes in her time with the organization. Lyanne has also served as co-lead with the Integration Management Office during the organization’s merger in 2019 and has worked side-by-side with leaders from every part of the organization with a 360 degree view of the organization and operations.
Lyanne has a Bachelors degree in Science from the University of Guelph and a post-graduate diploma in Workplace Wellness & Health Promotion from Centennial College.
