I wish to have Snoezelen accessories

Laurence, 4

respiratory illness

Four-year old Laurence is living with a critical respiratory illness. She is non-verbal and her condition affects every aspect of her daily life and she is completely dependent on her parents at all times. Despite these challenges, Laurence finds joy in music, nature walks in her stroller, swimming and playing on the swings.

At times when she is the most alert, she roars with infectious laughter. When Make-A-Wish volunteers talked to Laurence’s parents to find out what would make her happy, they suggested stimulating activities to assist with her long-term development and well-being.

When her Snoezelen accessories were installed in her home, Laurence was instantly excited about her updated space. Laurence was able to listen to her favourite music with an interactive light show activated by the speakers and a projector. She was very interested in these new objects in her environment. When Laurence is happy, she sticks out her tongue and raises her right arm. So, you can guess how she reacted to all of this stimulation. She was thrilled!

Thank you to the Montreal Airportfor supporting Laurence’s wish. Thank you as well to Flaghouse and Brault & Bouthillier, and all those who contributed to making Laurence’s wish a reality.
